Day 3, 4 & 5: Three Ways to Ward off the Heat This Weekend!

Have you heard the news?  Summer will be in full effect this weekend, with temperatures hitting 90+ degrees!  Have you thought about how you're going to keep cool?  Here's a few no-sweat ideas to keep you and the family on the cool side this weekend.

Day 3: Water Olympics

Gather your friends for an afternoon of Water Olympics and hours of cheap fun!

Game ideas:
Water Relay: Split into teams, spread your teammates down the course and see which team can pass the most water balloons to the finish line!

Water Balloon Volleyball: Pair up teammates with bath towels on opposite sides of a net, to see who can volley the water balloons with the most skill and while getting the least wet.
Water Dodgeball: Split into teams, give a tub of water balloons to each team. Once the game begins, dodge the balloons! The last team standing wins the gold!

Day 4:  Slip 'N' Slide
Rig up your sprinkler or hose and grab the dish soap for an afternoon of slippery fun!
I've seen a 100 foot slide made of visqueen (picture above) keep grown men happy for over two hours!
Slide at your own risk!

Day 5:  Race to the River
Tube it.
Fish it.
Hunt it (for crawfish or any other treasures you might happen upon).
See Dr. Marc's crayfish adventure from last year, here.
Frolic in it.

Be sure to bring plenty of sunblock, water, snacks and a comfy chair!

Keep cool this weekend!

It all looks absolutely divine! If I could, I'd race down the slip n' slide so fast! Well, I may be able to drop down, but I wouldn't be able to get back up again, so never mind! Have fun, everybody!
